A Euclid, Ohio, man has been charged after a hit-and-run accident that left an unnamed person dead on the state Thruway earlier this week.
Devante A. Jones, 34, was charged with operator leaving the scene of accident – injury resulting in death. Jones was charged at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Ripley, according to the New York State Police.
The investigation is continuing.
The State Police at Dunkirk report troopers patrolling the Thruway found a disabled vehicle near the road with a person who had been killed at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the town of Sheridan. Troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation have located a suspect vehicle that left the scene.
