Patriotism evident as Festival of Grapes begins

1 min read

Thursday evening, undaunted by the rain, the Silver Creek Festival of Grapes paid tribute to our nation’s 250th birthday, opening with the presenting of the flag by guests dressed as some of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Following a rendition of the National Anthem by the Jamestown Harmony Express Barbershop group, some wet and wild grape stomping was led by guests dressed as three of our founding fathers and three historic patriotic ladies. Three Lucys also joined in the stomping fun.

The festival continues all weekend, including a parade down Main Street at noon on Sunday.

Starting at /week.
