Warrant issued in June city murder by police

Dunkirk Police Department announced Friday night an arrest warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Tywon W. Wright of Dunkirk, charging him with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Wright is wanted on the charges in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the city on June 11. Anyone with information regarding Wright’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Dunkirk Police Department at 716-366-2266.

Members of the public should not approach or attempt to apprehend Wright. Anyone who believes they have information concerning his whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.

Delani K. Williams was the victim in the incident who suffered a single gunshot wound before 10 p.m. that evening. He was transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“Our family has been destroyed,” his father, Harrison Williams, said in July. “We’re in pieces.”
