Fredonia volleyball hosts Pink Out Block Out game Tuesday
Trending
The Sons of the American Legion joined the Fredonia Hillbillies volleyball program in support of breast cancer awareness.
On Tuesday, the Hillbillies will host its annual "Pink Out Block Out" volleyball game against Jamestown at Fredonia High School. The event is designed to raise awareness of breast cancer, with all proceeds benefiting Roswell Park Cancer Center. The event begins at 5 p.m., with a junior varsity game preceding the varsity contest.
Pink Out Block Out is more than a volleyball game. It is an opportunity for players, families, students, alumni and community members to come together behind an important cause. Fans are encouraged to attend, support the volleyball team and help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and care through Roswell Park.
The Sons of the American Legion Post 59 recently presented a donation to the Fredonia Women's Volleyball team to help support the Pink Out Block Out event. The donation is made possible through fundraising efforts conducted by the Sons of the American Legion.
Next month, the community will have a chance to show its support for the American Legion with the annual Turkey Bingo on Nov. 7, beginning at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 59. Proceeds from fundraising activities such as Turkey Bingo help make community donations like the one presented to the Fredonia volleyball program possible.
Events like these demonstrate what can happen when local organizations work together. The volleyball team, the Sons of the American Legion, and the community can turn an evening of volleyball or bingo into an opportunity to support causes that matter.
