A pair of drug investigations last week ended in three arrests.
On Sept. 29, an investigation into firearms and narcotics activity at 935 Swan St. in the city of Dunkirk ended with a search warrant being executed on last week and two being charged.
The warrant was executed by narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department along with assistance from detectives from the Buffalo Police Department and FBI Safe Streets, a news release issued Monday reported. Located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was Balin Rader, 20, of Dunkirk and Holly Pilarski, 45, of Dunkirk.
As a result of the search, investigators seized a quantity of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and a quantity of US Currency. Rader and Pilarski were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Both were issued tickets to be in the City of Dunkirk Court at a later date.
On Sept. 30, an investigation into narcotics activity at 421 Plover St. in the city ended with a search warrant being executed by investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department along with assistance from detectives from the Buffalo Police Department and the ATF.
Entry was made into the residence by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office SWAT. Located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was Lucas A. Smyczek, 39, of Dunkirk.
As a result of the search Investigators seized 5.6 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and a quantity of US Currency. Smyczek was charged with third-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Smyczek also had an arrest warrant out of the City of Jamestown Court. Smyczek was transported to the City of Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call and report suspicious or narcotics related activity within their neighborhoods.
