An early morning fire Wednesday is being blamed on an electrical issue.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report at 2:44 a.m., the West Dunkirk Fire Department and multiple mutual aid departments responded to 4561 Route 5 in the town of Dunkirk. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation.
The investigation found the fire originated in the kitchen area of the home and was caused by an electrical issue. It was ruled as accidental in nature.
