State planning to send more tax relief checks

Nearly 3 million New Yorkers across the state will receive over $2 billion in tax relief this summer and fall through New York's School Tax Relief (STAR) program. STAR provides property tax relief to eligible homeowners and seniors statewide. Two die in separate crashes in Evans

EVANS --- The Evans Police Department handled two fatal accidents over a span of 48 hours. The first occurred on Friday afternoon at 3:20 when a Ford pickup towing a trailer was traveling westbound on Southwestern Boulevard at Pontiac Road. It rear-ended a pair of vehicles and then crossed into the eastbound lane of traffic and was struck by a Dodge Journey vehicle. Fredonia hires new teachers, two more resign

Two new teachers will be joining the Fredonia Central School District this fall. Elizabeth Kowalski is the district’s newest Mathematics Teacher, and Hannah Rich is the newest Fredonia Music Teacher. Kowalski is professionally certified in Mathematics Grades 7-12 with an extension for Grades 5-6. She studied at Canisius University, with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Canisius.
