Max D. Bray

Max D. Bray, 86, of Fredonia, N.Y., went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday April 2, 2015 at home. Max was born December 21, 1928 in Fredonia, N.Y. to the late Max and Gladys Thompson Bray. He grew up in Fredonia, attended Fredonia schools and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1948. Shortly after graduation Max joined the United States Navy, serving 4 years, stationed in Norfolk, VA. Max worshiped at the First Baptist Church in Dunkirk, and was a member of Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post # 59.

He worked for 35 years at Allegheny Ludlum and Al Tech Steel Plant, several of those years as electrical foreman, retiring in 1991. Max enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes, playing golf, gardening, and wood working on his scroll saw, sharing items he made with family and friends. Max is survived by his wife Marion (Damon) Bray; 5 children: Lynne Austin of Stockton, N.Y., Beth (Kevin) Mulkin, of Fredo-nia, N.Y., William Bray of Snellville, GA., Patricia (Matthew) Dengler, of New Milford, CT., and Robert (Amber) Bray of Owens Cross Roads, AL.; 13 grandchildren: Melissa Jen-sen, David Austin, Jr., Matthew, Christopher, and Jeffrey Mulkin, Ryan, Stephen, and Brittany Bray, Adam, Sarah and Jacob Dengler, and Michael and Katelyn Bray; 5 great-grandchildren: Cameron and Reilly Jensen, Caden and Tenely Mulkin and Sadie Bray: 2 sisters: Joyce O’Brian of Prattville, AL and Lois Stokes of Fredonia, N.Y., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Max is preceded in death by a brother Donald Bray and sisters Bertha Turner, Cora Oxley, Gladys Morehouse, Marie Prince and Ruth Miller.

Family and friends may call today from 5-8 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, 876 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, N.Y., Mon-day at 11 am. Interment will be in the Webster Street Cemetery, where full Military Honors will be ac-corded.
