Jennifer S. Dillon

Jennifer S. Dillon (nee Abram), age 48, of Silver Creek, NY died September 12, 2015 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk under the compas-

sionate care of Hospice. Jennifer fought a courageous battle for nearly two years against an aggressive and rare cancer, leiomyosarcoma. Despite her pain, she continued to work until early April, and to travel and spend time with her beloved family.Jennifer was born February 4, 1967 in Dunkirk, NY

to the late Donald H. Abram and Dolores M. (Stawiarski) Abram. She was the youngest of 11 children. An area resident all of her life, a 1984 graduate from Silver Creek Central School, she continued her education at Alma College in Michigan. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa

and graduated cum laude in 1987. She worked as a bacteriologist at Nestle Purina in Dunkirk for the past 15 years. In her spare time Jennifer worked on needlepoint and was known for her homemade Christmas candy treats. She loved to spend time traveling with her husband, three sons

and other family members. She is survived by her beloved husband and soulmate, James (Jim) Dillon, whom she married on September 12, 1992 (dying on their 23rd wedding anniversary); and her three sons whom she cherished with all her heart and soul, Devlin 18, Mitchell 15, and Rory 11. Her greatest regret was that she would not live to see them grow into the wonderful men she knew they would become. Jennifer is also survived by her mother, Dolores M. Abram; and 10 siblings, Stephen (Patricia), Mary Ellen (David) Watson, Timothy, Dia-na (Jeffrey) Schmitt, Michele (John) Szymonik, Kevin (Angela), Patricia (Gregory) Cook, Anne, Paul (Marilyn), Matthew (Karen) and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her in-laws James and Barbara Dillon, Cindy, Steven and Michelle. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Donald H. Abram and an infant nephew Scott D. Watson. Jennifer selflessly donated her body to UB Medical School so that others could benefit from the knowledge gained through her dona-

tion. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Jennifer’s name may be made to Chautauqua County Hospice.
