Royal C. Goodemote

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. He was born in Zoar Valley, NY into a large family, the son of the late Merton and Mildred (Grimm) Goodemote. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved to laugh and tease people. His interests included cars, camping, horses and a love of nature. He will be remembered for his zest for life and quick wit.

Royal worked at Moench Tanning Company from his youth until the Gowanda plant closed. In retirement, he enjoyed working at horse auctions for Hanover farms in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Survived by his wife Alice (Anderson) (married June 17, 1950); father of Jayne Mulkey, Wendy (Jim) Stoklosa and Joan Goodemote; brother of Sherwood Goodemote, June Lamb, Pearl Winter and Ann Martindale; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Royal was predeceased by his sisters, Ruby Horning and Crystal Culvin; brothers Donald, Douglas and Bernard Goodemote.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Gowanda Fire Department banquet room, Aldrich St., Gowanda. All family and friends are welcome to enjoy the celebration of Roy’s life.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Gowanda, NY.

Memorial Contributions may be given in his honor to the Gowanda Ambulance Service.
