Anthony Guido
Anthony Guido, age 69, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully on Friday April 29, 2016 at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.
Tony is remembered as a loving husband, father, “Papa” and loyal friend. He was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. The type of person that would do anything for everyone. He touched many during his lifetime and will be sadly missed by family, friends and those who knew him.
Tony was born on July 19, 1946 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Thomas and Lena Guido.
He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he was stationed in Okinawa for two years.
He retired from Niagara Mohawk (NRG) where he was employed for 37 years as a Maintenance Mechanic Foreman. Tony was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church and also a member of the 1st Ward Falcon Club.
He began JKA Sports where he printed TShirts for many people and businesses throughout Western New York.
Tony is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy M. (Catalano) Guido who he married on October 3, 1970, his 3 children, Jodi Lynn (Christopher) Sikorski of Moyock, North Carolina, Keith Thomas (Michele) Guido of Scottsdale, Arizona and Anthony John “A.J.” (Joanna) Guido of New York City, New York. He is the proud and loving “Papa” of Christina and Luca Sikorski of Moyock, North Carolina. Also surviving are his brother, Tom of Bethpage, New York, his aunt, Bess Guido of Jamestown, NY and many nieces and nephews. Tony leaves behind many dedicated friends including Jim Bialaszewski, Bob Bialaszewski and Sam Allesi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Nick and Genevieve Guido of Jamestown, NY, Angelo and Angelina Bartoletti of Dunkirk and his uncle Ross Guido of Jamestown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Burial to be held Friday May 6, 2016 at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church. Private interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to either the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263 or the Wounded Warrrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeaka, KS 66675.
