Michael J. Henry
Michael J. Henry, 56, of Chapin Rd, Silver Creek, died on April 4, in Roswell with 3 of his nieces, Noelle, Emily and Shelby by his side.
Born in Buffalo, the son of Joanne T. Martin and the late William E. Henry. Mike gave his body for medical research to University at Buffalo because of his Muscular Dystrophy and Leukemia.
A graduate of Silver Creek Central H.S. and Fredonia State College with a degree in Communications, Mike wrote articles on handicaping conditions for the OB-SERVER.
He was very active in “Key Club” through high school then he became secretary, treasurer and president of Kiwanis in Silver Creek.
Survived by 2 brothers: Steven (Pam) Henry and Dean (Marcie) Martin, 1 sister: Laura (David) Harford and 6 nieces and 2 nephews.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Elliott “Marty” Martin.
A Memorial Service is being planned for Sunday, July 3 at 1PM at First Unit-ed Presbyterian Church in Silver Creek. Then a celebration of his life at 4PM on 2534 Chapin Rd.
The family suggests contributions for Mike can be made to a memorial at First United Presbyterian Church in Silver Creek or Muscular Dystophy of NYS office, 1425 Jefferson Road, 2nd Floor, Rochester, NY 14823.
