Felicita Maldonado (Georgina Echevarria)
Felicita Maldonado (Georgina Echevarria), age 86, of Fredonia, died peacefully Saturday morning (Jan. 28, 2017) at the home of her daughter, Helen Echevarria-Pierce.
She was born June 9, 1930 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Juan and Paula (Luciano) Maldonado.
An area resident since 1952, Felicita had been employed as a production worker for Red Wing Company, retiring in 1992. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Survivors include four children, Helen (Rodger) Pierce, Harry (Carmen) Echevarria, Hugo Echevarria, and Hilda (Ronald) Moscicki; five grandchildren, Camron Rivera, Adrianna (Floripe) Padua, Lisandra Echevarria, Seryna Ancelet, and Lisa Sheldon; two great grandchildren, Camron Rivera, Jr. and Amaya Padua; two brothers, Carlos Maldonado and Eligies Maldonado; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Stephina, Felicita, Eduviges, Arcilia, and Inez; and five brothers, Flores, Gaspar, Eduardo, Jesus, and Nicanor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis G. Riter will officiate. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery, Town of Pomfret.
