Herbert J. Albrecht, 87, of Stockton, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017.
Born July 5, 1929 in Dunkirk, a son of the late John and Emma Buetter Albrecht.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the United States Army in Japan.
Herb was employed as a recorder for Allegheny Ludlum/Special Metals, Dunkirk for over 40 years.
He was a lifetime member and previously held several offices in the Sheridan VFW Post #6390. Herb also attended several senior citizens groups. He enjoyed building projects, and in his younger years did barn teardowns with his son. He loved having people over for dinner, playing cards and board games, and was proud of his German heritage.
Husband of 48 years to the late Katherine Albrecht, whom he married April 22, 1967 and died May 2, 2015; father of Randy Albrecht of Fredonia, Ruth (John) Stalter of Portland and the late Martin Albrecht; grandfather of eight; great- grandfather of seven; broth-er of the late Myra Moore, Helen Boner and Harry Albrecht. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cassadaga Cemetery, Maple Ave., Cassadaga, with Military Honors provided by Cassadaga Memorial American Legion Post #1280. No prior visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Disabled American Veterans.
