Lillian Johnson
Lillian Johnson
Lillian Johnson passed away on May 14, 2017. She was born in Patterson, New Jersey. Lillian never knew her parents. She was fortunate to meet Dr. and Mrs. Howard Potter and they took her in. When the Potters moved to Fredonia, Lil came with them. When the Potters passed away, Lil stayed with Mrs. Potters sister, Laura Evarts. When Laura passed, Lil stayed with Marilyn Tanner and Linda Briggs, good friends and caretakers, until she moved to a Resource Center group home in Dunkirk, NY.
Lil participated in several TRC programs including the workshop, Day Hab and Senior Adult Day Care. She also participated in programs from the Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers in both Dunkirk and Jamestown.
Lil was known for remembering everything from birthdays to holidays. She loved to do arts and crafts and would make cards for every occasion to send to all of her friends.
Lil has many friends that loved her like family. These include Linda Briggs, Bridgett Hodnett, Pat Wunder, Sharon Buesink and Donna Lisa as well as her TRC friends at Birchwood, Eagle St., Forest Ave. and Willow Ave. Lil always said, You have to have love in your heart and she truly was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed.
Lil donated her body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. A memorial will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Taft Center, 663 Lakeview Ave. in Jamestown at 10 a.m. Father Reed from the Bethel Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements by David J. Dengler, LarsonTimko Funeral Home, 6799000.
