Paul W. Smith October 29, 1938 – May 1, 2017

Paul W. Smith, 78, of Cherry Creek, NY passed into eternal rest May 1, 2017. He was born October 29, 1938 in Cottage, NY to the late Ralph and Doris (Mosher) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Loran (Grace Ann) Smith, Grace (John) Crouse and John Smith. He is survived by his wife Ruthann (Lord) Smith; three children, Lorinda (Mario) Camacho, Marsha (Matthew) Smith and Brian (Stephanie) Smith; four grandchildren, Loren, Paul Michael-Issac, Luisa and Katharine; siblings Betty (late Richard) Shellen- barger, Carl (Carol) Smith and Raymond (Edna). Smith is also survived by many nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Paul graduated from Go- wanda High School in 1957 and Buffalo State College in 1962. He went on to teach for over 30 years. He taught industrial arts and driver’s education at Pine Valley High School for the majority of his career. Paul was an avid out- doorsman and talented woodworker. His passion and enthusiasm in these areas was eagerly shared with anyone interested and able to share time with him. He enjoyed telling a story and conversation with friends and family. Paul also attended Cherry Creek United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio-Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton, Friday, May 12, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Cot- tage Cemetery.
