SILVER CREEK — David H. Greenough, 61, of Burgess Street, Silver Creek, died peacefully Thursday, July 6th, 2017, at his residence, following a short illness, with his family by his side. He was born in Victorville, CA on December 23, 1955, the son of the late Roger and Wilma (Wills) Greenough.

Mr. Greenough attended Forestville Central School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received the 101st Airborne Wings, Air Assault Wings, Army Achievement Medal, Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal.

Mr. Greenough worked as a Maintenance Man for the VA Hospital Erie, PA.

He was a 9th Degree Black Belt, having taught Karate for over 40 years and was also a member of the National American Legion.

Survivors include his wife KeKhee (Day) Greenough, of Silver Creek, whom he married on Sept. 4, 1999, in Smith Mills, three brothers, Guy (Beth) Greenough, of North East, PA; Kevin Greenough, of Forestville; Keith Greenough, of Forestville, sisterinlaw Kelly (Tom) Wetzel, of Baltimore, MD, and brother-in-law Chip Day of Phoeniz, AZ. Also surviving are 5 nephews Paul, Matthew and Michael Greenough, Thomas Wetzel, Jr. and Mathew Wetzel.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Rodney P. Greenough.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, 60 Buffalo Street, Silver Creek, with Rev. James Witherington, Jr., Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Mills Cemetery, Town of Hanover. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville.
