James "PaPa Jim" Polowy
James D. “Papa Jim” Polowy, 77, passed away Saturday July 29, 2017 in Clayton, NC.
Born on April 21, 1940, James was the son of the late Edmund C. and Julia B. (Dach) Polowy.
He was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and was a former member of St. Hyacinth Church. James taught English for both Mayville School District and Forestville Central School, where he retired. Mr. Polowy also taught for the Dunkirk Public Schools Adult Education program. He loved sports and coached basketball, football and baseball.
James is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Suzanne Mourer, three sons; Vincent Polowy of Cleveland, OH, Mark (Valerie) Polowy of Dunkirk, NY, and Kevin (Jennifer) Polowy of Silver Creek, NY, two step children, Aaron Bialaszewski of Clayton, NC, and Dawn Bialaszewski(David Sepulveda) of Apollo Beach, FL, eight grandchildren; Michael Polowy (GA), Nicholas Polowy (NYC), Christopher Polowy (SC), Andrea Polowy (Brady Raynor) of Fredonia, NY, McKayla Polowy of Silver Creek, NY, Anna Polowy of Jamestown, NY, Mariah Polowy of Silver Creek, NY, Kyler Sepulveda (FL), and one sister, Marcia (Dan) Hawryschuk (FL).
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Eugene Polowy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
