GOWANDA — Margaret P. Scott, formerly of East Otto and Otto, NY, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 6, 2017 with her daughter, Paula, at her side. Margaret was 95 years old.
Born December 11, 1921 in East Otto, the daughter of Paula and Anna (Ebert) Stoltenberg.
Margaret graduated from Ellicottville High School, Class of ’39. She married Clark J. “Scottie” Scott at the Immanuel Lutheran Church May 26, 1943. Scottie passed away August 23, 1977. Margaret spent most of her life in the Otto area before moving to Gowanda to be closer to her daughter. She was a member of the Otto Immanuel Lutheran Church, The Cattaraugus Senior Travelers and the Randolph Moose.
Survivors include a daughter Paula (Tom) Reid of Collins, a grandson Scott (Christine) Reid of Huntersville, NC; and greatgrandchildren, Caroline, Davis and Carter. Margaret is also survived by two nieces, Gina (Ron) Niziol and Karen (Rodney) Rich and a nephew Peter (Kathy) Stoltenberg.
Besides her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Engelhaupt.
Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda from 24 and 79 p.m. on Thursday, where funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Springville, with Pastor Travis Grubbs officiating.
