Eugene R. Tilley Jr.

Eugene R. Tilley Jr., passed away on December 18, 2017 at the age of 62, after his long battle with cancer. He went home to be with his loved ones in Heaven. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his loved ones.

U.S. Navy (Chief Warrant Officer 2), Navy Achievement Medal, Food Service Officer, Navy Commendation Medal, Chief Mess Management Specialist, served on the USS Alexander Hamilton. After 24 years of service, Gene retired from the U.S. Navy and continued working in the food service industry.

Gene was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his parents Eugene R. Tilley Sr. and Beatrice, his Wife, Nancy Tilley, Daughters; Jodi Hughes Smith, Gail (Jack) Irwin, Lindsay (Dustin) Ivey, Siblings; Robin (Ron) Frazita, Cheryl DeJoe (Keith), Mark (Sherry) Tilley, Charles (Gloria) Tilley, Grandchildren; Meghan, Shannon, James, Ian, Sarah, Bella, Serenity and Alyana and his extended family.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, December 27th at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville for graveside services. Military honors will be conferred.
