Catherine B. “Kay” Coniglio, 91, a longtime Fredonia resident died Saturday morning (Jan. 13, 2018) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk.
She was born July 23, 1926 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Robert and Olga (Perotti) Bertuzzi. On April 17, 1948 Catherine married Vincent Coniglio who predeceased her in 1987.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Albert) Hornbeck of Pleasant Valley, NY; granddaughter, Jessica (Jeffrey) Kawski of NC; two great grandchildren, Juliet and Joey Kawski of NC. They brought so much joy and happiness to her life.
She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Coniglio of Dunkirk and Coco Bertuzzi of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Coniglio; and her brother, Robert Bertuzzi. Catherine’s sister-in-law, Carolyn Coniglio died March 7, 2018.
Catherine lived at St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home in Silver Creek. A special thanks for all the staff at St. Columban’s for the loving care they gave her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated Tuesday morning April 3, 2018 at 9:30 in St. Columban’s on the Lake Chapel, Silver Creek. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
