Clifford Roger Ehmke

Clifford Roger Ehmke, 79, of Delmar, MD formerly of Syracuse, NY, died on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Delmar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 9, 1939 in Silver Creek, NY, he was the son of the late Clifford and Grace Towne Ehmke. Clifford was employed as an Earth Science Teacher with the East Syracuse Minoa School District. He loved being a teacher and mentor to his students and the same was said about him from his students. He served as past president of the East Syracuse Minoa Teachers Union. Clifford also loved the outdoors and adventures. He enjoyed backpacking, skiing, kayaking, hiking, and golfing. He

was an avid traveler and enjoyed taking rides in his MGB convertible. In addition to being an outdoorsman, Clifford was very active in the First Church of Christian Science in Syracuse, where he was a

member as well as past second reader and past board president. He also served as Treasurer of Instuitional Services for Christian Science for the entire New York state.

Clifford is survived by his wife Claudia Ehmke of Delmar, three children Heather Ehmke of Boston, MA, Liesl Ehmke and her husband Paul of St. Louis, MS, and a son Eric Ehmke and his wife Jennifer of Moorsville, NC; two step-children who were like his own, Karen Waggoner and her husband Jack of Salisbury and Jerry Elliott of Delmar,

DE; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a brother, William Ehmke and his wife Patty of Rochester, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
