Lillian C. Mathers
Lillian C. Mathers, 93, formerly of Cassadaga and Fredonia Place, died Friday evening (April 20, 2018) at the Absolut Care of Dunkirk following a brief illness.
She was born March 3, 1925 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Florence Russell. A lifelong resident of the area, Lillian was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Dunkirk. She was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include three sons, James (Carol) Mathers of Alpharetta, GA, Kevin (Marge) Mathers of Spencerport, NY, and Paul (Susan) Mathers of Cassadaga; six grandchildren,
Andrea Johnson, Lindsey Burroughs, Rolland Mathers, Erin Mathers, Michael Mathers, and Cassandra Betourney; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Mathers whom she married July 22, 1946 and who died Sept. 11, 2010.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cassadaga Library. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
