Marilyn K. Naslund

Following a lengthy illness, Marilyn K. Naslund, 83, of Dunkirk was freed from her broken body and entered the gates of Heaven into the arms of her loving Savior Jesus on Wednesday morning (July 4, 2018) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 26, 1935 in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Henry) Kenney.

A resident of the area for most of her life, Marilyn graduated from Silver Creek High School, and the Bradford Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Brooks Memorial Hospital for nearly forty years as a Registered Nurse. A lifelong learner, she loved to travel, enjoyed reading and music, and had a beautiful Alto voice. A member of Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church in Fredonia, Marilyn was a Girl Scout leader for Junior Troop No. 119, volunteered for many years with Hospice and the American Red Cross, and ushered for concert hall events at SUNY Fredonia.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Kenneth R. Naslund; one daughter, Karin Miller of Grantsville, MD; one son, Keith Naslund of Fredonia; grandson, Daniel Miller of Grantsville, MD; one brother, John (Deborah) Kenney of Perrysburg; two nieces Rebekah (John) Jones, and daughter Mariah of Sheridan, NY and Heather (Bill) Fleming, and son Aiden of Boston, NY; nephew John (Gina) Kenney, and children Ashley and LJ, of Rochester, NY.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mona Kenney and Nancy Murphy Bates; grandson, Michael Miller; and son-in-law, Peter Miller.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
