Patricia A. Carlson

Patricia A. Carlson, 87, of Dunkirk died Friday morning (Sept. 7, 2018) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk.

She was born Nov. 6, 1930 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy (Whipple) Draves. Patricia had been employed as a registered nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, she was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She enjoyed knitting, classical music, her cats, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Paul (Deborah) Carlson of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Janet (Kevin) Supkoski and Cristine (Kenneth Williams) Brown, both of Fredonia; seven grandchildren, Emily and Brett Carlson, Haley and Paige Supkoski, Jessicia Brown, and Ryan and Brysen Williams; two great grandchildren, Mason and Aklee; one sister, Natalie Feightner of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Carlson, who died Aug. 15, 2008; a son, Thomas J. Carlson, on Dec. 14, 2017; and her twin brother, Patrick Draves.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Calling hours will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
