Leonard C. Dingeldey, Jr.

Leonard C. Dingeldey, Jr., 91, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, died Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Buffalo, on November 12, 1927, the son of the late Leonard C. and Estella (Kepner) Dingeldey, Sr.

Mr. Dingeldey served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as a Cleaner/Custodian for Hamburg Central School District, for 20 years. He was a member of the Hamburg American Legion Post No. 527 and a former member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge No. 89. Mr. Dingeledey enjoyed antique cars, scrapbooking and the Buffalo Bills.

Survivors include a son, Leonard Charles Dingeldey, III, of Blasdell; a daughter, Louise (Forrest) Pollock, of Blasdell; three stepsons Patrick (Chris) Richmond, of North Carolina; Robert (Margie) Richmond, of Forestville; Fleury (Robin) Richmond, of Forestville; two stepdaughters, Jane Smith, of Tennessee; and Donna (Michael) Webber, of Cattaraugus. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Alice Schwartz, his second wife Eva (Whitford) Dingeldey, whom he married May 19, 1990 in Missouri and who died September 23, 2014, by an infant sister and his stepfather Edward Antweiler.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at the South Dayton American Legion Post No. 1593, 4 Mill Street, South Dayton, at 1 o’clock. Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Forestville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Charity of one’s choice.
