Richard James Foster, age 87, of Fredonia, New York passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. Born and raised in Silver Creek and Chautauqua County,
Dick joined the Navy at 18 and served in the Korean War as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After leaving the Navy, he earned masters degrees in science from Fredonia State College and Case Western University.
For 35 years, he was a popular and repected Professor of Geology at Buffalo State College. For 3 years before retirement, he served as Executive Assistant to the President at Buffalo State College.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Foster and children: Thomas Foster, Mark Foster and Wendy (William) Pinkoske.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering Friday, April 5 from 4-7 p.m. at LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y.
