Gowanda, NY – Michael J. Chmiel, 62, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at his home in Gowanda,NY. He was born on January 24, 1957 in Gowanda, NY son of the late Henry J. Chmiel and Frances (Danner) Chmiel who survives. Mr. Chmiel was self- employed in construction field with Mandon Construction as well as Clarence Wall and Ceiling, where he was a drywall specialist. He was a member of the The
Master’s Plan in Dayton, NY and was a huge music fan. He knew just about everything with the bands he loved and their members. Music was everything to Michael as he also enjoyed playing the organ, piano, and keyboard. Besides his mother, Mr. Chmiel is survived by a daughter, Brandi Diane (Tyson McKisseck) Chmiel of Norman, OK, and three brothers; Dennis (Edith) Chmiel of Lawtons, NY, Henry (Deborah) Chmiel of Gowanda, NY, and Rob (late Lorrie) Chmiel of Freedom, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda. Funeral services will be held following the calling hours at 2 p.m. from the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Master’s Plan in Dayton, NY.
