Edward M. Herrington

GOWANDA: Edward Herrington age 78 of Fairview Dr. passed away unexpectedly in Dunkirk Monday May 6, 2019.

Born in Gowanda December 17, 1940 the son of Edward and Mary (Korosec Cheplo) Herrington.

Ed was a U. S. Navy Veteran honorably serving his country from 1958-1961.

Edward married The former Angela Ragona August 11, 1962 at the St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, Angela passed away October 25, 2014.

Ed retired from M&T Bank where he had worked in investments and Insurance .

Memberships include St. Joseph’s RC Church, Gowanda, Knights of Columbus (1st. Grand Knight) he also was the past Treasurer for the Knights, a Member and Past Board Member for the American Legion Post # 409 and a member of the Slovenian Club, both of Gowanda. Ed also volunteered for Roswell Park and Love Inc. He was also a member of the Gowanda Rifle Club.

Survivors include two daughters; Linda (Larry Kiener) McGee of Gowanda and Lisa (William) Rebmann of Collins , grandchildren, Nicholas (Rosa), Amanda (Christopher), Victoria, Anthony, Autumn and Braden. Great grandchildren; Eloise, Oliver, Graeme, Vivienne and Owen, two nephews Rusty and Simon and a niece Lana also survive along with their parents (Ed’s brother and sister-in-law ) Michael and Judy Ragona

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday May 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s RC Church East Main St. Gowanda (please assemble at church) Interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery Gowanda.

If desired, memorials May be made to a local charity of ones choice.
