James E. Anson

James E. Anson, proficient businessman and owner of Lakeside Precision in Dunkirk from 1992- 2016 died unexpectedly Sunday morning May 5, 2019 at the age of 62. He was born Aug. 7, 1956 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Richard and Maxine (Loeb) Anson. He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1974. He was married to Betty (Pawlak) Anson in 1983. They were married for 15 years. They had three children. He purchased Lakeside Precision in 1992 from his father, Richard F. Anson. He ran it successfully for many years before selling it to his son, Christopher Anson in 2016 and it is still in operation today as a third-generation family owned business. As a lifelong resident of Dunkirk, he enjoyed the lakefront and all it had to offer. He could be seen frequently on the lake during the summer months. He enjoyed time in his boat, jet-skis or just hanging out on the beach. He enjoyed his mornings at the gym and watching sporting events on television with his family and friends as well as being an avid traveler. He always lived life to the fullest, his life motto was “work like a captain, party like a pirate,” Survivors include three children: Christopher Anson, Erika Anson and Kelly Anson; three siblings; Gary

(Diane) Anson, Jean (Ron) Crow, Joan Anson; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his girlfriend Lisa Borrello. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard F. Anson, who died on March 31, 2019; his mother, Maxine Anson, in 1993; and his brother Daniel F. Anson, (1979). Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at

9:15 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s
