Marlene K. Weyand

Born in Buffalo, NY September 7, 1931 the daughter of J. Sprague and Martha ( Rathbun) Kettle.

Marlene married Fredric H. Weyand November 2, 1951 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Buffalo, NY Fred passed away April 11, 2000.

Marlene was a long standing member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Gowanda. Marlene and Fred had 5 children; Fredric (Linda) Weyand of Gowanda, Marta Alexander of Falconer, Erich (Susan) Weyand of Gowanda, Karla (Al Schaefer) of Gowanda and Kristine A. Weyand of Amherst. Nanna to nine grandchildren; Briana, Chentil, Malorie, Marissa, Nicholas, Alexia, Christina, Anneliese and Emma. 6 great grand children also survive along with a sister Geraldine Brown of South Palm Beach, Fl., 2 brothers Ronald (Earlene) Kettle of Naples, Fl. And John (Cheryl Leadbeter) Kettle of Rochester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Marlene worked in her husbands law office in Gowanda, NY for 20 years, she received her degree in secretarial science from Bryant and Stratton Business College and Hilbert College both in Buffalo. Prior to her retirement Marlene was very active civically, she was the chair for the Town of Persia Republican Committee and Vice Chair for the Cattaraugus County Republican Committee, a long time supporter of the Gowanda Free Library, a member of the Monday Evening Literary Club Marlene also enjoyed playing Bridge and Euchre. When her girls were younger she was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader .

Friends may call Friday at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda from 2-6 p.m. Friday May 17, 2019 with a service at the close of hours Friday evening. A family burial will take place Saturday May 18, 2019 at Pine Hill Cemetery Gowanda. Rev. Michael Nace officiating.
