Frederick M. “Bubba” Fowler

Frederick M. “Bubba” Fowler, 63, owner of Fowler’s Taffy and life-long candy maker, of Cassadaga and Sarasota, FL, passed away Wed., May 29, 2019 at his Cassadaga home. He has “tore down” for the last time.

Born April 5, 1956 in Dunkirk, a son of the late Jack and Mikie Joyce Fowler. He was a 1974 graduate of Riverview High School, Sarasota, FL.

Fred was a lifelong Candy Maker who owned and operated Fowler’s Taffy. He was a third generation candy maker having learned and perfected his craft from his dad. Fred delighted and entertained both children and adults with his taffy-making skill at county fairs and numerous festivals across Pennsylvania and Western New York. He loved the logistics of the business, paying attention to every detail of the entire operation. His wife Kathy and children will continue to operate and entertain the crowds. The show will go on!

In earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Husband of 44 years to Kathy Hancock Fowler who he married September 11, 1976; father of Jennifer (Robert) Walter of Clarion, PA, Jack (Rachel), Richie and Heather (Kyle) Fowler all of Sarasota, FL; grandfather of Jarrett, Jacalyn, Aspen, Trenton, Tarah, Colton, Landon; brother of, John (late Janet), Janie Moylan both of Sarasota and the late Jerry Fowler. Also survived by brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends, who include his special friends, Scotty (Michelle) Delahoy and their daughters.

A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Sinclairville Fire Hall, 30 Main St., Sinclairville, from 1-4 p.m. Arrangements by Jordan Funeral Home Sinclairville.
