Carol A. Schutt

Carol was born December 22, 1956 in Tripoli, Africa to her late parents, Robert O’Bannon and Patricia (Macklin) O’Bannon.

After graduating from high school, Carol continued her education at Jamestown Community College earning her LPN degree in nursing. She had a passion for helping others an had been employed for nearly 25 years at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, NY primarily in the Maternity Department. Carol had been credited for saving many lives.

On April 6, 1985 Carol married the love of her life, Gordon P. Schutt. After retirement, she and Gordy relocated to Benson, Az. to be close to family.

She is survived in addition to her husband by her children, Heather Watson of Benson, Az., Shawn Watson of Westfield, NY, step-daughters Roxanne Buxton of Mayville, NY, Rochelle Gray of Westfield, NY, and Cathy Cettell of Portland, NY. Carol is further survived by her 2 sisters; Cathy Blake of Benson, Az., Cassandra Roy of Illinois, and her 2 brothers; Thomas O’Bannon of Tucson, Az., and Steven O’Bannon of San Diego, Ca.

Friends and family will be received for an informal Memorial gathering from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 18th, 2019 at the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Main Road, Westfield, NY. Private burial will be in Westfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Carol’s family would like memorial contributions to be made on her behalf to the Westfield Memorial Hospital, c/o Special Projects Committee, 189 East Main Street, Westfield, NY 14787.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the MORSE Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. Brocton, NY.
