Ruth A. Kachermeyer

Ruth A. Kachermeyer

Ruth A. Kachermeyer, 93, of Dunkirk died Tuesday afternoon (July 9, 2019) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Tremper) Dillenkofer.

A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Ruth had been employed by Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. in Dunkirk. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and was also a member of Disabled American Veterans and VFW Auxiliary John T. Murray Post 1017.

Ruth was dearly loved and cherished by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Ruth enjoyed knitting and crocheting anything from blankets and slippers to baby clothes and booties. She had an avid love for reading and singing in the choir at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. In her youth, she

worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital and was a Silver Spoon volunteer. But above all, she loved her family and spending time with them. Although there is a hole in

our hearts, we are able to find comfort in the fact that she lived a long and fulfilled life. There is no doubt that she has impacted the lives of so many in her 93

years on earth, she will be forever missed.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Chautauqua County Home for their love and care over the past sixteen years. To the staff of 1A, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
