Shirley P. Newton, 80, of Southerland Road, Irving, died Thursday, July 11th, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born in Silver Creek, on July 24, 1938, the daughter of the late Roland and Isabel (Southland) Dickinson.
Mrs. Newton was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School and worked as a TV hostess for the former Lake Shore Hospital, Irving. She was very fond of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Norman G. Newton of Irving, whom she married on August 3, 1957, in the First United Presbyterian Church, Silver Creek, three sons David Newton, of Irving; Tim (Susan) Newton, of West Lafayette, Indiana; Scott (Lisa Whipple) Newton, of Irving; a sister, Carol (Fred Newell) Mead, of Cassadaga; and a brother, Terry Dickinson, of Fredonia. Also surviving are three grandchildren Emily, Aaron and Brenna Newton and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son Tom Lee Newton, a sister Susan Pencek and a brother Randy Dickinson.
There will be no visitation observed. Services are private and at the convenience of family. Interment will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
