Dean Logan Noel

Dean Logan Noel

Dean Logan Noel, age 83, passed on to his heavenly home on October 15, 2019 to reunite with his wife Esther. Born in Curwensville, PA to Clyde W. Noel and Edna M. Caldwell Noel on June 9, 1936, he relocated with his parents to Chautauqua County in Western New York as a young child.

Mr. Noel was employed by True Temper Corp in Dunkirk, NY for 30 years as well as working as a commercial truck driver for Wheeler’s Trucking Service in Dunkirk, NY on a part-time basis. It was truly noted by his friends and family that Dean was happiest when there was a wheel in his hand. After retiring from True Temper at the age of 49, Mr. Noel temporarily relocated to Central Florida with his wife to be near their two children. Once in Florida, it was no surprise to those who knew him best that he needed the hum of the diesel engine of a commercial tractor trailer to fulfill his love of driving. He drove for three various trucking firms throughout the years until finally seeking early retirement at the age of 62. At this juncture, Mr. & Mrs. Noel returned to their family home near the shores of Lake Erie to enjoy the change of seasons but continued to return to Florida during the winter months to be near their children. Even after retiring, Mr. Noel put his CDL talents to use by driving the school bus for St. Cloud Christian School where his son served as Administrator.

Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and auto mechanics. In his younger years, he and his buddies experienced the thrill of stock car racing. As a married man and father, he traveled with his wife and children throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico vacationing and enjoying the beauty of the world, mainly by RV. But his favorite past time of all was riding his Honda Goldwing Aspencade with his wife reminiscing their life’s journey together.

Mr. Noel was a former member of First Portland Baptist Church in Brocton for many years and served as head usher. After moving to Florida, he attended First Christian Church of St.Cloud, Fl with his son as well as First Baptist of St. Cloud, Fl with his daughter. Upon retiring from full time employment, he attended West Portland Baptist Church in Portland, NY while enjoying the summer months of Western New York. He was also a member of the First Ward Falcon Club in Dunkirk.

Dean was married to Esther Alta Delcamp Noel on September 3, 1954 by the Rev. Fred Marshall, pastor of First Portland Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2019. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Delcamp. He is survived by his two children, Lu Ann Lesniak and husband Ron, Randy Noel and wife Gail, and grandchildren Mark Lesniak, Julie Lesniak (Ada), Bryan Noel and Michele (“Shelley”) Noel, and one great grandson, Christopher Dean Lesniak. He is further survived by his two aunts, Louise Horrock (Harold) and Isabelle Seaburn, and uncle Paul Caldwell. Many thanks to his compassionate and loving neighbors George Kinne, Kathi and Dale Wheeler, lifelong friends Jim and Betty Gens, and his wife’s former caregiver Maria Ramirez and her husband Ramon who were all loved as family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Noel will be held at 12:00 Noon, October 24, 2019 at the Brocton Baptist Church, 33 W Main Street, Brocton, NY 14716, with Pastor Larry Morrison officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service there. Interment following the service will be in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
