Patricia Ray Biscaro

Patricia Ray Biscaro, 83, of Fredonia, NY, died on October 14, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 15, 1936, in Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late George Frederick Ray and Margaret Kunkle Ray.

Patricia spent her youth growing up in Wentlings Corners and Knox, PA, before her family moved to Dunkirk, NY, where her father owned and operated George Ray Tire. She graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1954 and immediately went to work in the family business. She rose from the role of assistant bookkeeper to President of the company.

Although her career accomplishments were many, her greatest accomplishment and source of pride were her five children. She was a model mother to them and took great pride in making a warm and comforting home. Every holiday and family gathering were made memorable by her special touches and delicious food. Patricia was also an active volunteer, and was usually the first friend to step in to help others. She served as president of the Brooks Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and bookkeeper for Chautauqua County Meals on Wheels. In addition, she held many volunteer positions over more than 60 years as a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

Along with her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Dorothy Booth.

She is survived by her daughters Sonia Fails (Clay) of North East, PA, and Licia Barra (Michael) of Rochester, and sons Ray Biscaro (Martha) of Dearborn, MI; Aaron Biscaro (Kathleen), of Rochester; and Joel Biscaro (Charlene), of Dunkirk. She is furthered survived by nine grandchildren: Matthew and Nicolas Barra; Leah Fails; Joseph and John Biscaro; Alexander and Aubriana Biscaro; and Alexander and Kensley Biscaro. She was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, October 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Dunkirk. Per her wishes, there will be no prior visitation. Internment will be in the Holy Cross Columbarium of St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dunkirk. Arrangements are being made by McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, Dunkirk.
