IRVING — John L. Edler age 85 of Versailles Rd. Passed away at home Sunday morning November 17, 2019 surrounded by family.Born at home in the Town of Perrysburg February 12, 1934 the son of John T. and Evelyn N. (Kramer) Edler. John was a 1951 graduate of Gowanda High School, he married the former Inez R. Hilliker in the Forestville United Methodist Church August 22, 1953. Inez survives.A dairy and grape farmer the Edler Farm has been

family owned and operated since 1888. The farm was recognized as a Dairy of Distinction in the mid 1990’s John was also a member and delegate for

the National Grape/ Welch group , Dairylea Milk Co-op , a member of the Dayton Grange, John was the sextant for the Versailles Cemetery a position he and his wife held for many years . John was a jack of all trades there was nothing he couldn’t fix or repair, he enjoyed wood-working and even built the family homestead he and Inez raised their children in. He also helped several in the area and had a hand in building their homes

also. John enjoyed family camping , snowmobiling (the snow-bugs) playing pinochle (and other card games) , diamond art, puzzles and sudoku. John was a devoted husband , father, grandfather and friend , surviving besides his wife Inez of 66 years is a son John W. ( Susan) Edler of Irving and a daughter Deborah (William) Fedor of Highland, MI. Grandchildren Christy (Patrick) Martin, John M. Edler, Andrew J. Edler, Catherine E. Fedor and Gillian M. Fedor , Great Grandfather to Abigail L. Martin and Evelyn R. Martin.Besides his parents John was preceded in death by a sister Marcia Edler. John was a donor to the University of Buffalo’s Ana-tomical Gift Program.
