Santa Salisbury

She was born May 30, 1939, the daughter of the late Samuel and Jessie (Piscetillo) LaBarbera. Babe graduated from Fredonia High School in 1957 and went to work for several area businesses including as a Credit Manager at Sears, the former Dunkirk Credit Bureau, and in the business office of Brooks Hospital. Her last job before her retirement in 1998 was as a school bus aide for Dunkirk Public Schools.

Babe looked forward to her weekly lunch day and Sunday coffee with her close group of friends. She also enjoyed having her family over for Sunday dinners, and attending school sporting events and other activities that her sons and grandchildren were involved in.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Vito, John, and Samuel LaBarbera and her sisters Jill Parinella, Connie Raths, and Sister Gertrude LaBarbera.

She is survived by her husband Paul Salisbury of Dunkirk who she married on August 21st 1965, her sons Paul C. (Marie) Salisbury of Fredonia, and Kevin J. (Michelle) Salisbury of Lakewood NY, and her grand-children Jenna and Jacob Salisbury and Calvin and Claire Salisbury. She is also survived by her sisters Mrs. Josephine Giambrone of Fredonia and Mrs. Laura Gambino of Clairton, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial mass on Monday November 11th at 10:00 am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Dunkirk with burial immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Sheridan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Elizabeth Ann Seton church or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
