Daniel J. Bernardi, of Silver Creek, entered into final rest Saturday evening at Elderwood Nursing Home in Hamburg, NY, peacefully with his loved ones at his side.
Born on July 2, 1929 in Lackawanna NY, son of the late Joseph and Antonia (Oddi) Bernardi, he is survived by his loving wife Irene, children; Theresa Brown, Paula Lonski, and Paul Schank. He is the loving grandfather of eight grand children and 10 great grandchildren. Dan is survived by one sister and predeceased by four sisters and one brother. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Daniel served in the Army during the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 1419 in Hamburg, NY and Honor Guard. A retired train engineer for Conrail, Daniel enjoyed golf, bingo, bowling and playing cards with his family.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, where services will be held Thursday at 12:30. With full Military honors flowers gratefully declined, desired memorials may be made to Hospice in Daniel’s memory.
