Robert A. Butcher

Little Valley – Robert A. Butcher, 68, of Little Valley, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Olean General Hospital. He was born on July 24, 1951 in Gowanda, NY, son of the late William and Myrtle (Abbey) Butcher. He was a US Marines veteran and was employed as a truck driver for many different companies, particularly PST out of New Jersey for many years. Mr. Butcher was a member of the area churches and enjoyed helping others. He also believed that organ donation was important, of which he participated in following his death.

Mr. Butcher is survived by two sons; Joseph Butcher of Fredonia, NY and James (Samantha) Butcher of Springville, NY. He is also survived by a daughter, Brenda (David) Smith of Dunkirk, NY. Also surviving are four brothers; John (Laurie) Butcher of Collins, NY, David Butcher and James Butcher, both of Florida, and William (Jan) Butcher of Saranac Lake, NY. Also surviving are two sisters; Edith Sciortino and Susan (Mike) Cano, both of Florida. Mr. Butcher is survived by 12 grandchildren; Jessica (Brian) Pope, Bill Wagner, Justin Wagner, Andrew (Dakota) Wagner, Carrie Smith, Mickayla Smith, Lexie Butcher, Joshua Butcher, Christian Butcher, Payton Butcher, Londyn Butcher, and Gabriel Butcher, as well as four great-grandchildren; Helen Pope, Bryan (Alyssa) Wagner, Huntur Wagner, and Scarlett Sutton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by brother, Harold Butcher, and two sisters; Linda Voss and Alice Hilliman.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 12 pm Noon to 6 PM from the Masonic Forest Lodge, 329 E. Main St. in Fredonia, NY.
