Marilyn P. Mitchell

Marilyn was born into the Wolf Clan October 6, 1935 the daughter of Abram and Rachel (Hill) Huff.

A Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the Seneca Territory she also was a Native Elder . She enjoyed quilting ,needlepoint , being a wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother . She had over 100 grandchildren .

Marilyn married Bergal Mitchell Jr. March 21, 1970 in Collins . Besides her husband of nearly 50 years Marilyn is survived by children ; Cristal H. Mitchell of Irving, Sharon Tallchief of Angola , Veronica Stevens of Gowanda, Victoria (David) Mercado of Gowanda, Juanita Williams of Georgetown, ILL. , Michelle Mitchell of Irving , Bergal III (Rachel) Mitchell of Gowanda and Lee (Richard) Harris of Warsaw, NY. A brother Melvin Huff of Brant also survives as does several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Marilyn was preceded in death by 3 children Barry Halftown, Natalie Halftown and David (wife Kristin Survives) Mitchell , a grandson Brooks D. Mercado , 3 brothers Abram, Israel and Leland Huff, 5 sisters; Estelle John , Viola Snyder, Florence Rydzek, Emiline Williams and Rosalee Seeley.

Friends may call at the family residence 12548 Rte. 438 Irving after 3 pm Tuesday and all day on Wednesday , funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. from the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter Day Saints on the Cattaraugus Territory Rte. 438 Town of Collins. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. A luncheon will follow services at the Seneca Nation Fire Hall of the Cattaraugus Territory.
