Roy Hawk

Roy O. Hawk, 76, of Fredonia, NY, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY, on March 7, 1943, to the late Henry and Mary (Taber) Kozlowski Hawk.

In his earlier years, Roy worked as a carpenter in his own business, building several homes in the area, including his own. Roy retired from Niagara Mohawk and NRG in 2003 and enjoyed working as a real estate agent for Midtown Realty. Most recently in retirement, Roy was a driver for ECC2 BOCES.

Roy always enjoyed a good laugh and loved to spend quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They truly meant the world to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Carole (Pucci) Hawk and six children: Roy Thomas (Lisa) Hawk of Fredonia, NY, Lynette (Greg) Borst of Brocton, NY, Renya (Carl) Knappke of Dunkirk, NY, Dr. Johnathan (Dr Wendi) of Las Vegas, NV, Rebecca (James) Hemenger of Fredonia, NY, and Paul (Shannon) Hawk of Fredonia, NY.

Also surviving are his sister, Faye Hawk, 13 grandchildren: Raleigh (Kathryn) Hawk, Michael Hawk, Matthew (Nadia) Speziale, Nicholas (Amber) Speziale, Kyle Matteson, Hailey Hawk, Andrew Hawk, Jamie Hemenger, Dean Hemenger, Ava Hawk, Jay Hawk, Eli Hawk, and Ila Hawk; along with 3 great grandchildren: R. Trucy Hawk, Luca and Mila Speziale.

Roy was preceded in death by his sister, June Hawk Lehan and a brother, Lee Hawk.

Roy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass and may call the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY, on Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 5-8 p.m.
