Mark R. Coyle

Mark R. Coyle, 82, peacefully passed away in the home and presence of his long time partner, Virginia Halberg on Wednesday, February 5th. He was born in Connecticut March 11, 1937, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Coyle, and brother to Susan (Coyle) Smith.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary (Bogardus) Coyle. He is survived by five children, their families, and nine grandchildren – Jonathan/ Monique Coyle of Florida, Michael/Jessica Coyle of Kenmore, Patrick/Abby Coyle of Massachusetts, Mark Coyle of Rochester, and Michelle Coyle of Fredonia. Grandchildren – Nathan/Camryn Coyle (Florida), Jack/Sophie McGuigan (Kenmore), Jack/Bo/Tula Coyle (Boston), Matt/Caitlyn Coyle (Fredonia/Buffalo).

Mark retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1978 after serving honorably for 24 years. He was a Vietnam veteran who received various commendations for his exemplary service. He was proud to have served his country. After retiring as a Master Sergeant, he moved to Dunkirk where he worked and raised his family. He loved nature, the weather, the food channel, and spending summer evenings on the patio with friends and family.

Mark donated his body to the University of Buffalo, School of Science.
