Ronald T. Hamernick

He was born Nov. 1, 1952 in Tupper Lake, NY, the son of the late Chester and Violet (Cardinal) Hamernick.

A resident of Dunkirk for most of his life, Ronald was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1970. He had worked for the City of Dunkirk at the Waste Water Treatment Plant for 35 years, retiring in 2008.

A dedicated Buffalo Bills fan, Ronald loved fishing and pressing his luck at the casino.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. (Aikens) Hamernick, whom he married Nov. 1, 2002; one son, Steven (Calla) Hamernick of Dunkirk; three grandchildren, Lynsy, Clayton, and Parker Hamernick; seven stepchildren, Wendy, Tina, Jimmy, Renee, Brian, Amy, and Cody; one sister, Donna (Jeff) Allen of Forestville; one brother, Douglas (Kathy) Hamernik of Dunkirk; and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
