"Bud" Richard Willey

“Bud” Richard Willey, 89, formerly of Bear Lake, died Thursday March 26, 2020 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.

Bud was born November 10, 1930 in Union City, Pa., the son of Reid and Emma (Cross) Willey. He was raised in Union City, Pa, attended Union City Schools and graduated from Union City High School. On September 27, 1952, Bud married the former Joanne Delcamp. Joanne passed away in 2015.

An electrician by trade, Bud was a member IBEW #106, working as an electrician for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. Prior to joining the IBEW, he managed a Loblaw’s Grocery Store in Erie, Pa, and was an Insurance Agent for the Prudential Life Insurance Co.

Energetic by his nature, he enjoyed flying both full scale airplanes and building and flying model airplanes. He also enjoyed wood working and remodeling their home. Above all, he enjoyed spending time at Bear Lake with family and friends. He was a Mason and a long-time active member of the Tri-Church in Brocton.

Bud is survived by his 2 sons: David, his wife Deborah (Woleben) Willey; Mark, his wife Sandy (Maggio) Willey, and his daughter-in-law Kathy (Hammel) Willey, by 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bud is predeceased by his wife, Joanne (Delcamp) Willey, his oldest son, Rick Willey, who also passed away in 2015, as well as his parents, Reid and Emma Willey and 6 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Virus.
