Dona C. Smith

Dona was born in Jamestown, NY on July 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Virginia West, and Gerald Comstock.

She was a graduate of Brocton Central School Class of 1950, and worked in the banking industry most of her life, retiring in 1994 from Fleet Bank.

She loved to sew, and looked forward to the annual Swedish Festival held at JCC, and taking classes with her aunt Marion Wade. She was an avid gardener.

She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family and took trips to Sweden, Ireland, Italy, and all over the US. She loved family vacations on the Outer Banks of NC.

Dona is survived by her Aunt Marion Wade (Robert) of Kennedy NY, four children, Michael Smith (Patricia) of Clintonville, NY, Wendy Raven of Goffstown, NH, Mindy Conlin of Gulfport, Florida and Jennifer David (Kevin) of Germantown, MD. She also leaves three grandchildren, Courtney, Haley, Payton, and two great grandchildren Olivia and Hadley. She will be greatly missed by all of them.

In addition to her parents, Dona was predeceased by her two brothers, Edward and Thomas Comstock.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and Interment will be at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

She was a long time member of the Portland Congregational Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in her honor be made to the Portland Congregational Church, 8649 Church Street, Portland, NY 14769.
