Emily Wilcox, 94, of Dunkirk, NY, died Tuesday morning (April 28, 2020) after a sudden illness.
She was born in Dunkirk on January 23, 1926, the daughter of the late John Sr. And Helen (Jurek) Gula.
She enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo. She was also an avid reader her whole life.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Emily is survived by her three children, John (Cheryl) Howe of Boynton beach, FL, Roberta (Peter) Pacos of Fredonia and Scott (Dawn) Wilcox of West Winfield, NY; her sister, Helen Palmer of Florida; four step children Michael “Denny” (Karen) Wilcox of Georgia, Kathleen Korwin of Ohio, James (Kelly) Wilcox of Sheridan and Lawrence (Anna) Wilcox of Arkwright; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Francis F. Howe; her second husband, Lyman J. Wilcox, her step son Lyman W. “Skeet” Wilcox, her five sisters, Bernice S. Szumigala, Victoria Rucinski, Mary A. Szumigala, Frances T. Gould and Elizabeth Konert; her four brothers, Stanley F. Gula, William F. Gula, John C. Gula Jr. and Joseph J. Gula.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at a date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours.
