Marcella J. Stover (Smeal) Bens of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Lily Dale, NY transitioned to Spirit peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2020 with her daughter and husband by her side.
Marcella was retired Executive Housekeeper at Hamot Hospital in Erie.
She was a founding member of The Church of the Living Spirit in Lily Dale. She never encountered an animal she didn’t love, and likewise in return. She was troberthe proprietor of the Pathway of Light metaphysical book store in Fredonia, NY. In addition to her spiritual endeavors, she displayed beauty in her art, gardening, sewing, ceramics and more.
Marcella was originally from Philipsburg, PA, the oldest daughter of Clair and Bella (Vaughn) Stover of N. Philipsburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her 2 sons Mahlon R. Smeal and Glenn R. Smeal.
Marcella is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert A. Bens and her daughter Rebecca S. Ditoro, two step-sons Philip (Laurie) Bens, Daniel (Katrina) Bens, a step daughter, Elaine Bens. Two Daughter in laws Nancy K. Smeal and Anne F. Smeal, along with two sisters Marguerite J. Reed and Ethel (Ted) Kolbe.
There are 11 grandchildren including Robby Smeal, Rebecca Smeal and Glenn Smeal Jr. There are many Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren.
