Emma Louise Copeland “Momma Lou”

Emma Louise “Momma Lou” Copeland, daughter of the late Willie Ed and Betty Jane Randolph, was born on Sunday, Jan. 6, 1924, in Hickory Valley, Tenn. She entered into Heavenly peace on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in her home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory her five daughters: Evelyn Ellison and Gertrude Copeland, Jackson, Tenn., Phyllis (Duane) Farmer, Hopewell, Va., Maxine Harris, Atlanta, Ga., and Shelia (Jeffrey) Smith, Denver, Colo.; her only son, William Terry (Deborah) Copeland, Nashville, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren including the Rev. Leroy (Debbie) Walker of Jamestown, N.Y., Jerry (Theresa) Walker of Oneonta, N.Y., and Leary (the late Cindy Sperry) Walker Sr. of Jamestown, N.Y., Sallie (Robert Donaldson) Walker, Glenda Sue (Keith) Blake and Brenda (Patrick) Bunce, all of Jamestown, N.Y; 24 great-grandchildren including Leary “JR” Walker Jr., Kareem “Karrie” Walker, Janel Fleurant, Brandon (Natalie) Walker, Stephanie (Erik) Walker-Williams, Teresa (Bobby Hoch) Walker and Madison Walker- Blake, all of Jamestown, N.Y., Katrina Walker of Spartanburg, S.C., Alissa (John) Hareras of Pittsburgh, Pa., Keishia Blake of New York City and Chevelle “Chevy” Walker and Therista “Felice” (the late Albert) Stephens, both of Utica, N.Y.; and numerous great-great and great-great- great-grand- children.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Copeland; two daughter: Atiyah Addullah and Corrine Walker; and a great-grandson, Karee Walker.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020, in Jackson, Tenn.
